HUNNER VALDEZ ALICANTE

Born: August 8, 2009, 1:05pm
6 pounds, 15 ounces
19 and 1/2 inches long
Torrance Memorial Hospital, Torrance, California
Baby Arrival Website click here
Delivery was great!
Paul and I were scheduled to come in for induction at 2am 8/8/09.
Patosin (spelling?) was in by 4am.
Epidural was smooth and worked wonders.
5 big pushes and out came Hunner!

TODAY IS HIS 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY.I can't imagine my life without my Hunny! This month went by so quickly.
He gurgles and can left his head up!
He likes to kick.
He's moving up from Newborn to Size 1 diapers.
He moves his head slowly to the sound of voices from Mom, Dad, and sisters.
He sleeps well. Let's me and Paul sleep 3-4 hours.
He has oily hair that poofs up right after a bath.
He actually like the pacifier. Both Alexa and Sam didn't.
Paul says he's gonna be a momma's boy.
I've already nicknamed him "Hunny".
Here's a few pictures that were taken within his first month:

THREE!

My little baby is 3 today. Happy birthday Alexa Elia Alicanté!

The little things I love about you:
1. You are so concerned if anyone has an awwee.
2. You have a adult sense of humor and strangely sarcastic
3. You're smart and such a fast learner
4. You are not a sissy girl...you're tough and are not afraid to show it
5. You love school and your school friends and teachers all love you
6. You can't wait to see your grand parents. Both sets of them make you happy.
7. If someone hurts your feelings, your pouting face can make anyone melt
8. When someone farts, you squint your face and say, "Momma farted? Smell stinky! Disgusting!"
9. You reserve the best seat in the house the minute you hear it's movie time.
10. You sing and hum to yourself.

I love you Alexa! I can't believe that 3 years ago I was pregnant with you!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday with plenty of cupcakes, ice cream and laughs.

31 weeks and 3 days

I never imagined that I would be pregnant with my 3rd child. After Sam, I just thought that I'd MAYBE have another one. Then Alexa came along and Paul and I decided that it would be easier if we just had our children back to back. 2 years later, no pregnancy, I thought that was it! Of course that's when I became pregnant. Now at 31 weeks, I don't know where the time flew.

The biggest differences in this pregnancy compared to the rest:
1) Shopping for boys clothes is more challenging
2) I cannot seem to find ANY clothes that are comfortable to wear.
3) Being pregnant well into your 30's is completely different from being pregnant at 22
4) I didn't go out and buy 10 books to read, sign up for lamaze class at 15 weeks or take the hospital tour yet. I think that comes from being a veteran. :)

Things that stayed exactly the same:
1) I am always hungry (especially for sweets and salty chips)
2) My feet are swelling up
3) All three kids in August so I'm always hot
4) Still have anxieties of giving birth

Ok enough about me (how selfish of me)...here's what's been going on:
Sam had a successful year in choir and even got scored a solo. Not bad for her first year.
Alexa started preschool/daycare. She hated it her first few days then got the hang of it. Now she knows the routine in the mornings and is eager to go play with her friends. Paul took video. Here she is scoping out the place:
And here she is once she finds out we are leaving. It's freakin' hilarious how the teacher had to grab her on the floor!

We forced a day off and went to Legoland with other friends and their families.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Spent some time at Tina's pool.PhotobucketPhotobucket
Went to Vegas with the girls (pregnant and all)PhotobucketGO PACMAN!!!
Started nesting. Needed more closet space...so being that my shoes are in EVERY closet in this house...I decided to get rid of a few.Photobucket
And got rid of Alexa's Dora sleeper couch. Not without taking a few pics of her in it of course.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Alexa got a student of the month award for the month of May.

Sam worked her way to getting a sleepover. So I made her some extra "cool" invitations. Problem was, none of her friends were allowed to sleep over. Cheated.

ANDDDDD...that's all folks. I'm assuming the next time I write will be when baby Hunner is here. Oh yeah...did I tell you...his name will be "Hunner Alicanté". No middle name as of now.

Awwee.

Today Alexa got her ears pierced. Mind you, she is already 2-1/2 years old. Sam got her ears pierced when she was 2 months! Alexa had a very small eczema problem when she was younger, so the doctor advised not to get them in fear that she will scratch them. Paul was very hesitant taking Alexa to Icing in the mall where a teenager does it...so all this time it just never got done. Sooooooo, today we went to eat with my family and passed by Lens Crafters for my brother, Alex to get new glasses. We had a whole hour to kill before he can pick them up. Icing was in the mall and I saw a lot of mom's in line to pierce their daughter's ears. I decided that moment, that she was going to get them done. We talked to Alexa about earrings and how pretty she's going to be and convinced her to take the seat! I thought that she was going to scream bloody murder but she did quite well. (Thanks to my mom sugaring her up with sweets!) Check out the video:

Her reaction is hilarious to me. I can't believe that she didn't cry! I was so proud of her! We went straight to the Disney store and I had to get a little treat! She didn't even try to pull them out at all. All she did was point at her ears and say, "Awwee." and nodd her head.

14 weeks

Me and my hubby ate dinner and watched a movie on Valentine's Day with the kids. It was a nice family day out. Paul got me an awesome card, I would share, but that stuff is personal! :) I made Paul a card and envelope...
The next day I turned 14 weeks.

14 Things about my 2009 Pregnancy:

#1 You'd think that I'm not feeling sick anymore by this time...but I still do.
#2 I crave smoothies, sandwiches, fruit, chips, soup.
#3 I can only eat half of the portions I normally eat, but I'm hungry almost every hour.
#4 This is the only pregnancy that I've been great with taking prenatal pills. They finally made those suckers small enough so that I don't have to cut them in half!
#5 I saved a lot of my maternity clothes from my last pregnancy, so I probably won't be buying any pregnancy clothes besides undies...
#6 I've already started to come up with designs for my announcements :)
#7 I'm only going to take LaMaze class for the 3rd time to sell my announcements to other moms-to-be. lol
#8 Paul lets me eat anything I want.
#9 I have to take about 1-2 naps a day
#10 I no longer fit my big jeans without a hair tie holding it up
#11 Not craving coffee or beer
#12 Planning to cut my salt down. I am not looking forward to fat-ass feet again
#13 Still want to go dancing. Too bad there are no day time clubs!
#14 Gaining about 1 lb. a week now.

Guess what?!

Another August Baby! I've got Sam on the 24th and Alexa on the 3rd. I guess we had to fill in the August gap! lol The girls were with Paul and I when we went for the ultrasound and everyone oohed and aahhed once we saw the baby's silhouette. We couldn't be more excited! God is good.

Goodbye 2008...Happy 2009!

Ok so I know that I suck keeping this blog. And the last time that I wrote was Halloween...so here's another catch up blog. Not much has been going on. A lot of work and mostly time at home (a.k.a. my cave).
We are all bored...even Alexa (taken 11/5/08):Isn't it hilarious that she fell asleep with her finger in her mouth. Paul took complete advantage of her.
Sam helped out at a small show we did on 11/16/08 in Pasadena. I love that one day she will take over and make it huge (at least that's what I'm hoping for). But for now, as you can see, she's not very enthused.
Another significant change in our life is that my mom moved out of her house that she's lived in for 15 years. There are so many memories there. I'm really gonna miss it there. The holidays were definitely different without the home. The picture below was taken in the kitchen April 2007, where everyone ends up at when you go there. Check out how small Alexa is with my cousin Tony. Cousins Jess, Calvin and Carla are also in the pic.
Meanwhile, the one thing we inherited was my piano! The girls were so happy to have this in our home. Right in time for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, by the way was very low key. Just went to my aunt's house ate, ate more, karaoke, ate some more...went to sleep. No pictures :( But I did steal this one that my cousin took of the little ones:Jordis and Jayla look just like Gerico and Amber. They are so adorable. They recently moved down to San Diego from Washington and we're loving it. Playdates are weekends long.

Sam also got 2 distinguished awards at school. One for math and the other A Principal's Honor Roll Highest Honors for her 4.0 GPA. We're so proud! (I feel like the mom in Joy Luck Club that's holding the magazine that has her daughter's picture on the cover. And the daughter is looking at her like she's so annoying and embarrassing.) Sam wasn't so happy that we wanted to take so many pictures of her at school while all the other kids were watching. But I tell her to suck it up and that I'm just doing what mom's do (right?).
Had many Christmas celebrations. Had an eventful night with my girlfriends for our annual Christmas party. Good food, good company, a lot of girlie cackling...another great night to put in the books.
Then it was Temecula for Paul and my 1st wine tasting to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The little pocket tripod came in handy. Seriously though...I purposely did that prom pose as a joke...seriously...lol
Had a blast, had too much to drink. The drive back was not pleasant. Then Sam's Winter Choir performance
For the holidays, my step-sis and her family from NJ came down. We all had a blast at the Yard House and actually got kicked out for drinking too much! Good times. We all can't wait to do it again next year. I never took my camera out during Christmas eve in San Diego because I relied on my brother and cousin to email me the pics that they took. Still waiting...But Paul managed to pull it out on Christmas day at my house with the kaos of gift opening! And one of Sam. Which I like because it's the only one that shows off the only Christmas decorations we put up this year.
Now it's more partying at the Alicante's for New Year's. We had some friends and family come over.
We sang some karaoke. Paul and I like #9765 "Total Eclipse of the Heart". He sings the "Turnaround" part and I basically sing the rest of the song...lol
The guys lasted until 5am!!!
Ok...I'm finally caught up now! Here's to a good new year everyone!
